In 2004, the Sahil Health & Development Organization for Women (SHADOW) was established with the noble mission of empowering women and advocating against gender discrimination. Its primary objectives are to facilitate women’s access to healthcare and education, promote gender-based development, create income-generating opportunities for women, involve them in decision-making processes, and increase female participation in politics for greater representation.

Initially operating in the Gwadar district, SHADOW expanded its reach over time and established a provincial office in Quetta, undertaking projects throughout Balochistan. Balochistan, being the largest province in Pakistan, covering approximately 43% of the country’s total area, faces significant challenges, including poverty and lack of development, particularly affecting its female population. Read More

BMC (Basic Medical Care)

SHADOW, a healthcare organization, offered BMC Basic Medical Care to over 341 clients and their spouses, ensuring access to essential healthcare services.

Balochistan running out of water

The scarcity of water in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan is the most serious problem faced by the dwellers. Almost all districts of the province have been running out of water with the underground water level going down each passing day.
